about

My arrangement for replica lyre, of "I Saw The Mableoon" - a hauntingly beautiful traditional Egyptian Folk Song from Port Said.

I arranged a selection of traditional Egyptian Folk Songs for my lyre in this album, in my efforts to further evoke the sounds of the tragically lost music of ancient Egypt.

My replica lyre is indeed very similar to the types of portable wooden lyres commoly played in the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt (as depicted on the album cover)...
