about

A programme on Radio Safared (first broadcast on 27/08/2014) about my debut 2008 album, "King David's Lyre; Echoes of Ancient Israel":

www.radiosefarad.com/michael-levy-toca-la-lira-de-david/

Translating from Spanish from the programme notes:

"The instrument that plays Michael Levy is a kinor, name with which at the moment denominates in Hebrew the violin, but that in the Bible refers to a lyre. From that name, by the way, derives from Lake Tiberias (Kineret, in Hebrew), precisely because of its silhouette reminiscent of a lyre. With this instrument, Levy (descendant of the Levites who served, among other functions, as musicians in the Temple) delights us with melodies of different Jewish traditions."
